CORNWALL & TRURO B&FBSText Box: Cornwall & Truro Budgerigar & Foreign Bird Society
Are very pleased to report that their 2007 gold patronage 40th Anniversary show was an outstanding success and much enjoyed by all those fanciers from all across the Southwest and as far away as Somerset who managed to give their support by benching almost 800 Budgerigars making it one of the largest entries in the uk this year and around 150 Foreign bird exhibits. This annual club event, which is usually one of the top cage bird shows in the Western Counties area ,managed to achieve the required 650 birds benched to maintain its gold patronage status for 2008.
The show succeeded due to very had work by lots of people who had put in the time and effort managing the staging catering and the birds including the time consuming job of the paperwork The club would like to thank everyone who helped at the show, entered birds, gave donations of food for refreshments and donated raffle prizes and auction items , also to the members of the public who came in the afternoon to see the wonderful top class birds and chat , far too many to mention by name but you all know who you are! Your help and generosity made the 2007 show one to remember
All sections were very well supported with entries up by over 200 on last years event .The judges had some large classes to judge and appeared happy in their work and after due discussion, finally agreed that Best Budgerigar in Show should be awarded to Mick Joines lovely Sky Blue cock bird the Best opposite sex in show and Best Opposite Sex Youngbird went to R Longs well benched young Cinnamon Green hen.
